The Setlist this week highlights shows in Virginia, Gilbert and Nisswa and includes a Native American music festival, a finalist from "The Voice" and a singer-songwriter celebrating a new album.
November is Native American Heritage Month and to celebrate Bois Forte Tribal Community Radio station KBFT is hosting a music festival in Virginia this Friday. The Mino Mashkiki Music Fest begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center with music from Keith Secola, Annie Humphrey, War Bonnet and more.
In Gilbert, soul and blues singer Nicholas David will be at the Ore House on Friday at 8 p.m. David is a longtime Minnesota musician, releasing his first album back in 2004. He is featured on Charlie Parr's fan-favorite cover of Rocky Raccoon and was part of Teague Alexy's "Feelin" band. In 2012 he was a finalist on the TV show "The Voice." His most recent album Yesterday's Gone arrived in 2019.
Last Friday, Doyle Turner released his latest album Paper Maps, adding a jazzy flair to his heartfelt folk, Americana and country songs. On Saturday he will have his first show in the area since the release at 5 p.m. at Roundhouse Brewery in Nisswa.
