This week's Setlist has blues, folk, and rock shows in Grand Rapids, Hibbing and Aitkin.
Ardent Bicycles in Grand Rapids are celebrating the grand opening of their new location this Friday beginning at 4 p.m. Part of the festivities are three musical acts, headlined by country blues singer-songwriter Chris Holm. Local rock bands The Consequences and Modern Day Wasteland round out the lineup.
Ryan Mulner, the former lead singer for Average Mammals, is back with a new indie rock band called Beauty Mountain Rd. They are playing their debut show Friday night, 8 p.m. at Mike's Pub in Hibbing. Joining them will be '90s grunge rock band Dyed In Bleach. Beauty Mountain Rd. recently released a catchy new single "Same Old Same."
PRGRPHS are an post-rock trio from Minneapolis who are playing Sampaguita in Aitkin this Saturday at 2 p.m. Inspired by groups like Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky, PRGRPHS have an atmospheric sound with propulsive rhythms and catchy melodies. In 2023, they released their latest EP Light Refracts, Flickers Back.
Nikki Lemire is a harpist and songwriter who started her career in folk group The Foxgloves. She recently released her debut solo album Live at Lakewood, showcasing her personal lyrics, folk melodies and skills on the harp. You can catch her this Saturday in Grand Rapids at Unwined Up North, 7 p.m.
