Northern Minnesota has the blues on this week's Setlist, with two individual blues shows and a full festival in Duluth.
In addition, there is old-timey bluegrass in Bemidji and Americana in Park Rapids.
The 35th Annual Bayfront Blues Festival is this weekend in Duluth with music beginning at noon Friday through Sunday.
Headliners are The Devon Allman Project, 2023 Grand Rapids Riverfest performer Shemekia Copeland and Buckwheat Zydeco. Also on the lineup are Joanne Shaw Taylor, GA-20, Bernard Allison and many more.
In Chisholm, blues-rocker Joe Flip will be at Jim's Sports Club Bar & Grill Friday night at 7 p.m. He released Home Sweet Home in 2023 and performs on a homemade oil can guitar.
The Oxbows are a folk quartet from Bemidji who play old-time and bluegrass music. They will be at Brigid's Irish Pub this Friday at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, one-man country-blues band Chris Holm is playing at Rapids Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids. Originally from Clearbrook, Holm also plays with the Fattenin' Frogs and Heatwave & Landman. Music begins at 6 p.m.
In Park Rapids, Americana singer-songwriter Charley Wagner will be at Wine Not? Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. Wagner also fronts Forge North, bringing jam band flavor to his original songs.
