This week's Setlist has an up-and-coming acoustic singer-songwriter from Grand Rapids, a longtime Twin Cities musician touring through Northern Minnesota, and multiple acts playing for good causes at fundraisers in Bemidji.
Dani Kerr is a Grand Rapids based musician who performs as Outside People. She is playing Rapids Brewing Co. this Thursday at 6 p.m. An acoustic singer-songwriter, Outside People showcases her soulful vocals and lyrics dealing with the highs and lows of life.
In Bemidji, Rail River Folk School is hosting the Spring Soirée Musical Fundraiser for Nameless Coalition for the Homeless. Beginning at 5 p.m. Friday evening, the event will feature music from Kristi Miller & Friends, Roadside Attraction, The 3rd and Foxby.
Aaron "Heatbox" Heaton is a singer, rapper, beatboxer and longtime member of the Twin Cities hip-hop scene. He released his latest album Hilarious & Epically Legendary in 2023, and is playing The Ore House in Gilbert, Friday night at 8 p.m.
On Saturday, Rail River Folk School is back at it hosting Pride In The Arts from 4-8 p.m. A fundraiser for Bemidji Pride, it will feature queer artists including indie-rockers Foxby and folk-punk singer-songwriter Shannon Murray.
