AITKIN — Two were killed in an ATV crash Friday, Oct. 16.
The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office stated first responders were dispatched to a minimum maintenance road around 2:30 p.m. Friday near the Blind Lake ATV trail in Macville Township.
“Multiple agencies responded and upon arrival observed a 2018 Polaris Razor Turbo 1000 that had rolled multiple times,” stated a news release. “The two occupants of the ATV were wearing five point harnesses, no helmets and had severe head injuries.”
The two occupants of the ATV, 48-year-old Jacob Jeurissen and his 18-year-old daughter Kiara Jeurissen, both of Big Lake, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Due to conditions at the scene, investigators believe speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
