WADENA — One person has died following a mobile home fire in rural Wadena County early Monday, Sept. 7.
Deputies and fire personnel responded to the mobile home around 5 a.m. in North Germany Township, about 12 miles northeast of Wadena. Upon arrival, the trailer was engulfed in flames and had collapsed.
Authorities state one adult and four pets are thought to have died in the fire. The identity of the person has not been released pending further investigation.
The victim was brought to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for formal identification. The Sebeka and Verndale fire departments, Astera Health Emergency Medical Services, Karvonen Funeral Home and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office assisted the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office with this incident.
