BAXTER — A 53-year-old Baxter man died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a pickup truck early Thursday morning, June 18.
Dennis N. Hyatt was traveling north on a Harley-Davidson Cruiser at 4:49 a.m. on Highway 371, making a left turn on Pine Beach Road, north of Baxter. Todd D. Grimsley, 56, Baxter, was southbound in a Ford F-150 in the right lane. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
Hyatt died at the scene. Grimsley was not injured.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported the road was dry at the time of the crash. Hyatt was not wearing a helmet.
Assisting at the scene were the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, Baxter Police Department, North Memorial Health Ambulance, Brainerd Police Department and Brainerd Fire Department.
