BEMIDJI — The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office identified the victim involved in a Friday, March 20, crash into the Mississippi River.
Dale Clark Suther, 60 of Bemidji, was driving north on Sunnyside Road in Frohn Township when he left the roadway, traveled through a residential yard and entered the Mississippi River.
Bystanders attempted to assist the driver of the Ford F-150, but it quickly sank. Emergency personnel responded shortly after the call before 5 p.m. The Lakes Area Dive Team pulled Suther from the truck, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
