MINNEAPOLIS — How do you top a repeat championship? The Brainerd Warriors Dance Team found a way.
They started their weekend at state by winning the Class 3A jazz title Friday, Feb. 13, at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The team had never before medaled in jazz.
Then on Saturday, the team won its third consecutive state high kick title.
Crosby-Ironton finaled in jazz and high kick, finishing fifth in both categories.
"Looking back, there have been a lot of obstacles and bumps in the road, but there were also a lot of celebrations, achievements, and small moments that made us proud," a social media post from the Crosby-Ironton Dance Team read. "Being a dancer and having big goals is not easy, but it is always worth it."
The public is invited to fill out an online survey as the state's judicial system works to update its strategic plan, which is updated every two years.
