GRAND RAPIDS — Itasca County Sheriff Joe Dasovich announced his intention to seek a second term in office.
In a Monday, Jan. 6, news release, Dasovich highlighted the accomplishments of his first term.
“Serving the people of Itasca County has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” Dasovich stated. “Over the past three years, we’ve focused on practical solutions, responsible leadership, and strong partnerships to keep our community safe, strengthen trust, and ensure government works for the people.”
He pointed to increased training for deputies, community partnerships, and a revenue-generating agreement with Cass County to board incarcerated people at the Itasca County Jail.
“My approach has always been to lead with common sense and to put people above politics,” Dasovich stated. “I’m running for reelection to keep building on the progress we’ve made — and to keep putting the people of Itasca first.”
No challengers to Dasovich have yet announced their intentions to run. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
