RED LAKE — Motorists will need to detour around an underground utilities replacement project on Highway 1 in Red Lake starting Monday, Sept. 22.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the Red Lake Nation-led project is between Oman Drive and Main Avenue. It is expected to be completed by Saturday, Sept. 27.
Motorists will detour using Highway 89, Walking Shield Road and Reservation Highway 44.
Plus: Demolition work is underway to make room for new construction in Bemidji's blighted rail corridor; Anderson Brothers Construction in Brainerd can once again bid on government contracts; and Essentia Health St. Joseph's will host its annual Tree of Life memorial service on Dec. 16.
