Utility replacement work on Hwy 1 in Red Lake starts Sept. 22

The Minnesota Department of Transportation said motorists should expect a detour until work is completed Sept. 27, 2025.

RED LAKE — Motorists will need to detour around an underground utilities replacement project on Highway 1 in Red Lake starting Monday, Sept. 22.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the Red Lake Nation-led project is between Oman Drive and Main Avenue. It is expected to be completed by Saturday, Sept. 27.

Motorists will detour using Highway 89, Walking Shield Road and Reservation Highway 44.
