32-year-old Cohasset man dies in ATV crash in rural Itasca County

The Itasca County Sheriff's Office said the 32-year-old was the only occupant of the side-by-side when it crashed early Aug. 26, 2025.

COHASSET — A 32-year-old Cohasset man died in an all-terrain vehicle crash in rural Itasca County on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

The Itasca County Sheriff's Office said it received a 911 call just after 6 a.m. reporting a crash detected through an iPhone emergency alert system.

When deputies arrived at the area of County Road 242 southwest of Cohasset, they found a rolled-over 2025 Can-Am side-by-side.

The man was the sole occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the family and friends of the driver during this difficult time," a news release stated.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Deer River ambulance and North Memorial Health Ambulance also responded to the incident.

The man was not identified in a news release issued Wednesday afternoon.
