The Frazee Hornets baseball team meets in the rain during the Class 1A consolation semifinal against Legacy Christian Academy in Sauk Rapids on June 12, 2025. The game was suspended tied 1-1 and will not be resumed.

Rain made for an interesting end to the baseball season for many Class A teams Thursday. Grand Rapids lost in the 3A consolation championship.

Red Lake County will play New Ulm Cathedral for the 1A baseball title at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Target Field.

The No. 5 Rebels narrowly upset No. 1 Parkers Prairie 4-3 Thursday in an unusual semifinal. The game was tied after eight innings when rain hit St. Cloud. The teams picked up and moved to Alexandria to finish things out.

Red Lake County beat No. 4 Legacy Christian Academy 10-0 in the first round.

Because of the rain, the third-place match could not be played. Parkers Prairie and South Ridge will share that title.

The Panthers lost to New Ulm Cathedral 1-8 earlier in the day. They had advanced to the semifinal after beating No. 6 Hayfield 2-1 Wednesday.

Grand Rapids fell to Totino-Grace Thursday in the 3A consolation championship, 3-4.

The Thunderhawks lost 0-10 to Delano in their first match Wednesday, then flipped that score against Stewartville earlier Thursday to advance to the consolation final.

The 1A consolation semifinal between Frazee and Legacy Christian Academy in Sauk Rapids was also suspended at a 1-1 tie.

A Frazee parent shared on social media that the teams were playing tic-tac-toe on a ball during the delay, throwing it between the dugouts. That game will not be resumed, and there will be no consolation final.

Frazee lost 1-4 to Parkers Prairie on Wednesday.
