Northern MN wins 5 gold, 7 silver, 6 bronze at 1A state track meet

Two Harbors senior and gold medalist Trinity Giddings and Ely freshman and silver medalist Violet Udovich race for the finish line in the 400M dash at the 2025 state track and field meet.

In total, Northlanders earned 47 medals in Class 1A at the 2025 state track and field meet.

Eight Northern Minnesota student-athletes won it all at the 2025 Class 1A state track and field meet Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10 and 11, at St. Michael-Albertville High School.

Northlanders also won seven silver and six bronze medals, with a total haul of 47.

Clearbrook-Gonvick senior Allison LaVine defended her discus title. She beat the next best throw by over 16 feet with a personal record of 146 feet, 3 inches.

Staples-Motley junior Audrey Brownell is also a back-to-back champ, but in the mile. She also won silver in the two-mile. Her teammate, junior Turner Beachy, cleared 15 feet to win the pole vault title.

The Park Rapids relay team of seniors Olivia Miller and Addison Lauwagie, junior Grace Officer and sophomore Madeline Brandt won the 4x400M.

Two Harbors senior Trinity Giddings won the 400M. She was the only Northlander to qualify in four solo events, also taking third in long jump, fourth in the 200M and fifth in the 100M.

Bagley/Fosston senior Ava Phrakonkham won three silver medals in the 100M, 200M and long jump.

Bagley/Fosston, Two Harbors and PACT/Legacy Christian Academy tied for fourth with 31 points.

The 2A and 3A finals are Thursday.
