The state’s Department of Human Services is planning in-person and virtual opportunities to its proposed changes in child care licensing.
The overhaul to the child care licensing system is in response to a 2021 legislative directive to modernize the rules and regulations many lawmakers and providers say are prohibitive.
Minnesota Initiative Foundations such as the Northwest Minnesota Foundation are partnering with DHS for regional in-person workshops for the changes proposed in this second draft for child care centers and in-home daycares, starting May 5 in Thief River Falls.
Virtual workshops will begin in June, with capacity limited to 100 participants per session.
Registration information can be found on the DHS webpage, with public input on this draft accepted through June 30.
