VIRGINIA — The Rock Ridge School Board unanimously passed the renewal of its operating levy at its meeting Monday, Dec. 9.
There was no comment from the public at the meeting.
The school board delayed renewal of the levy at its previous meeting to allow more time to notify the public of the upcoming decision.
School boards were given the authority to renew operating levies in 2023, as renewals were passing nearly every time and becoming an administrative burden. Renewals are only allowed one time.
The district’s $190 per pupil referendum levy will now expire in 2033 if the district does not ask voters to replace it with a new one before then.
