KOOCHICHING COUNTY — In another fatal incident this weekend, a 72-year-old Baudette man died after a crash with a semitruck in northwestern Koochiching County.

The crash occurred late Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 11 and County Road 4, near Frontier Public Landing on the Canadian border.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports a Mazda Tribute driven by Gary Lee Warnken failed to yield right of way and was struck by the semi on the passenger side.

Warnken was not wearing a seat belt, the state patrol said, and was dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi, 51-year-old Michael Arthur Cisar of Cloquet, was not injured.
