Valzhyna Mort is a poet and translator born in Minsk, Belarus, and she writes in English and Belarusian. 

Verse Like Water is an ongoing celebration of great imaginative literature, and its purpose is to dream into being first class literary events for the Brainerd Lakes Region.

Valzhyna Mort, Ilya Kaminsky and Nikola Madzirov come to Central Lakes College in Brainerd on Sept. 27.

“Verse Like Water,” the visiting poet program at Central Lakes College, welcomes three eastern European poets Wednesday, September 27th at noon in the Chalberg Theater on the Brainerd campus. They will share their experiences of a war-torn part of the world through reading and conversation.

Free and open to the public.
