A selection of album covers featured in our Monthly Music Recap for March.

Listen as the KAXE Music Team highlights their favorite music released in March on our "Monthly Music Recap" series. Hear it live on KAXE the final Thursday of every month on "Headwaters."

New this year, the Music Team at KAXE gets together at the end of each month to talk all things new music.

The three of us — Malachy Koons, Dan Gannon aka DJ Dang and me, Music Director Kari Hedlund — chat about our favorite songs and albums released that month, music we’re looking forward to and the songs we just can't get enough of in the "Monthly Music Recap."

Take a listen to our notes on March, where we dig into albums like the intimate and deeply personal solo release from Jason Isbell, throwback sounds in The Original Sound of Mali 2 and Ghanian highlife music from Florence Adooni.

For favorite songs, we highlight the Deep Sea Diver track we can't stop air drumming to, a story of working-class history from The Devil Makes Three, a new collaboration that fulfills many Minnesota music fans dreams from Alan Sparhawk with Trampled by Turtles and many more.
