DFL Representative Melissa Hortman was elected in 2004 to the MN House and is from Brooklyn Park, MN. She currently serves as the Speaker of the House. Rep. Hortman joins Heidi Holtan on the Friday Morning Show to talk about the 2020 MN Legislative Sessions.
This year the 2020 MN Legislative Session had a lot to deal with. They expected a bonding bill. What they didn’t expect was a worldwide pandemic and the killing of George Floyd to push the issue of police reform to the forefront. There have been two special sessions called by the Governor this summer, and there’s talk that there may be another one this month.
