Four candidates emerge for 2 spots on Mahnomen County Board

Tyler Anderson, Larry Olson, Joe Swiers and Tina Starkey are advancing to the Nov. 3, 2026, general election, based on unofficial results from Minnesota's primary election.

MAHNOMEN — Voters narrowed the field for two seats on the Mahnomen County Board during the Tuesday, Aug. 11, primary election.

Tyler Anderson and incumbent Commissioner Larry Olson will advance in the Mahnomen County Board District 3 race.

The district covers a southeastern section of the county and includes Twin Lakes and Little Elbow townships.

Joe Swiers and Tina Starkey will advance in the incumbent-less District 4 race.

This is the northwestern portion of the county, and includes the townships around the county seat of Mahnomen.
