BRAINERD — The Brainerd Police Department is asking for help finding a missing Brainerd woman.

Cory Degeest, 61, was reported missing Sunday, July 13.

She was last seen walking on Beech Street about two weeks ago.

Authorities are concerned for her well-being due to preexisting chronic medical conditions.

Degeest is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and 150 pounds. She is white, with sandy brown hair and blue eyes.

The police department issued an updated release Tuesday with more details.

"Specifically, we request that property owners in southeast Brainerd, particularly those with properties adjacent to Beech Street, Oakridge Road, 28th Street, Oak Street, Pine Street and Walnut Street, assist in searching their properties," the release stated.

"Please check all areas, including outbuildings and other structures, for any sign of Ms. Degeest or any recently abandoned clothing or personal effects, with particular interest in a blue windbreaker."

If people discover anything, police ask them to leave it untouched and to immediately notify the department at 218-829-2805.

Plus: Some aquatic invasive species prevention efforts to prepare for the impending open water season in Minnesota are already taking place.
