Which shows do you DJ?

After Dark.

When did you start volunteering at the station?

January 2025.

How did you first hear about KAXE?

Woof, just one of those Rapids things you grow up with.

Your favorite recent album or artist?

Recent... I'm going through the whole Rob Crow discog right now. Nothing new there...

Who got you into music?

My brother! Cassidy AKA Admiral Krill, fellow After Dark co-host.

Most memorable concert or festival?

The Bad Plus at The Guthrie Theater. I was 19. Biked there by myself. I laughed with entertainment sitting POV behind Dave King. Neko Case most consistently. Too many to choose or think of.

Tell us about your favorite KAXE memory.

There are many but generally hosting shows with my brother.

Favorite fellow on-air DJ at KAXE?

There are many but generally, my brother.

What hobbies do you have outside of DJing?

Fishing and playing, performing, recording music.

What's a musical ick for you?

Whisper 100%. That whisper voice trend a few years back hurt me.

Prince or Dylan?

Prince.

KAXE is turning 50 in 2026! Why should KAXE exist for another 50 years?

Because it should never not exist.

Dan was born on the south side of Chicago and remembers dancing to Booker T and the MG's as his 1st musical memory. What followed has been a lifelong adventure of hearing new music and being exposed to the people and communities that produced the artists. Forwards in all directions!
