Each month the KAXE Music Team — Malachy Koons, Dan Gannon (aka DJ Dang) and me, Music Director Kari Hedlund — chat about our favorite songs and albums released the previous month.
While we still haven't landed on a name for this musical baby, for now we're calling it "Spin that Ish!" Tune in next month to see if that sticks?
On top of a fair amount of ribbing each other, we talk about "Pirate Radio" from Genesis Owusu, a new collab from our northern neighbors Blue Moon Marquee and Northern Cree, the confusing (and incredible) dream that is Cate Le Bon, phone addiction with Dry Cleaning, Geese vs. Goose, a love song from Big Thief, the genius of Jon Batiste and lots of Jeff Tweedy talk (and impersonations).
And in Tweedy's words, "ROCK 'N' ROLL AIN'T NEVER GONNA DIE."
Listen to Spin that Ish! above.
