Join us for the first show of 2023 on Friday, January 13th with Red Lake rap artists Thomas X & Baby Shel!

Founder of Rez Rap Records, Thomas X is a frequent speaker and mentor for his community and beyond. Not one to shy away from difficult topics, he also showcases his playful side in his music.

Red Lake rapper, Baby Shel, was named by First Avenue as one of the 'Best New Bands' in 2015 after beating out four other acts. He has received acclaim over the years for his fiery live performance. He released a brand new album in November, Killing Time featuring KnoX.

Box Office/Lobby opens at 6:30pm, House at 7pm, show starts at 7:30pm.

This series is made possible by the citizens of Minnesota, with funding from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

There are no masking requirements at this time. You may always choose to wear a mask if it makes you feel safer, and it is now recommended that fully vaccinated individuals wear a mask indoors in public areas with substantial or high community transmission.

The music director at KAXE since 2014, Kari (pronounced Car-ee) Hedlund reviews music on the daily. She also hosts New Music every Wednesday (2 and 10 p.m.) and Sunday (noon), along with the KAXE Morning Show on Thursdays.
