Bemidji Block Party 2022

Bemidji Block Party, June 25th, 2022

After a couple years hiatus due to the pandemic, the Bemidji Block Party returns on Saturday, June 25th! Presented in partnership with Bemidji Brewing, this is one of the best community events in the region.

Free to the public and family friendly, the block party features brew by Bemidji Brewing (obviously), food by area vendors, games, and of course, music! The lineup this year includes exciting up and coming acts as well as names that we all know.

Bad Bad Hats - One of Minnesota's premier indie rock bands, Bad Bad Hats has played on the stage with Third Eye Blind, Hippo Campus, Margaret Glaspy among other great musicians. They've also been part of our KAXE Mississippi Riverfest and CenterStage MN Concert series in the past. Fronted by singer and comedian (not officially, but pretty close) Kerry Alexander, the band has a stage presence that is hooky, fun and captivating.

Corey Medina & Bros. - Closing out the day is northern Minnesota's favorite blues-rockers, Corey Medina & Bros.! Led by Corey Medina from the Navajo Nation, the band is fresh off the heels of their first show in the famed 7th Street Entry at First Avenue.

New Salty Dog - New Salty Dog is one of the most exciting bands coming out of Duluth today. With Jacob Mahon on vocals, we've been tracking the Mahon brothers since they were teens in Brainerd. Can't wait to have them be part of the day!

Sarah Streitz - An authentic musician to the core with her classic country roots, tied in to roots rock and folk music, Sarah Streitz has been on our radar for a few years and we're so happy to welcome her to northern Minnesota!

Join us for this free day of community, entertainment, and of course, locally brewed beers by Bemidji Brewing!

The music director at KAXE since 2014, Kari (pronounced Car-ee) Hedlund reviews music on the daily. She also hosts New Music every Wednesday (2 and 10 p.m.) and Sunday (noon), along with the KAXE Morning Show on Thursdays.
