Growing up in South London to Nigerian parents, Samm Henshaw was exposed to all sorts of music and gained his love for the craft early on. The son of a pastor, he learned to play all sorts of instruments at a young age at the church.
Early in his career, Henshaw was signed to a big music label, but has shifted to working on an independent model. In strange ways, he felt almost grateful for the pandemic and everything shutting down. It allowed for time and space to create, on a schedule of his own.
What came out of that time is a fantastic debut release featuring 16 original songs. Not bad for a musician dropped from a major label.
