I had the pleasure of a visit to Deer River High School last week to hear about the preparations and the meaning behind this Saturday's Picking Roses Round Dance and Fashion Show.  Everyone is invited and welcome.

This morning we were inspired by 16 year old Tyler Curtiss from the Grand Rapids FFA.  He told us about why he's in FFA, what it does, and about an upcoming fundraiser run. 

The Great Pumpkin Run is Saturday October 12th at 11am at Cowhorn Pumpkin Patch in Grand Rapids.  The fundraiser for the local FFA chapter and includes a 5K off road adventure and relay, Lil’ Jack 1K and  a Pumpkin Decorating Tent.

Pastor Kimbrel Johnson joined us on the Morning Show to talk about their December 23rd 2pm Service of Remembrance for parents honoring children who have died.  The holidays can be tough on folks, and Kimbrel reminds us to listen to those who are suffering.  She brings up an important point about saying the names of those who have died. 


Sylvia Allen was our guest today.  Among many things she is putting on the Harvest Moon Brew Fest in Aitkin on Saturday September 8th.  She also told us about the building she bought to restore - the historic Butler's Building in downtown Aitkin

This morning we welcomed John Davis and Dave Lick into our studios to talk "Septic Secrets - Septic System Seminar" on Thursday June 28th at Wabana Town Hall.  Potluck at 4pm and seminar at 7pm. 

The Grand Rapids Players present Arsenic and Old Lace - 2 weekends of performances beginning Friday October 13th with Friday/Saturday performances at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2pm.  Tickets are available with the Reif Center.  Director Steve Jaeger joined us on the Monday morning show to tell us more. 


Each week publisher and editor Marshall Helmberger joins us to tell us about news in NE MN.  This week MN State Auditor Rebecca Otto takes a stand on copper nickel mining, and the court case against the Timberjay has been dropped and Marshall reminds us to get out in the woods to see all the birds.
