Plus: MnDOT will host an open house on its Highway 34 corridor study in Park Rapids; and a state task force is hosting three public input sessions to gather information on how Minnesotans forage on state lands.

Former Mesabi East math teacher Ryan Ross Denzer-Johnson entered a plea agreement with St. Louis County prosecutors after being initially charged in August 2025.

Dozens of Northern Minnesota student-athletes from nine area schools, including Grand Rapids and Bemidji, will compete at the 2025 state swimming and diving meet this week.

Twelve Northern Minnesota teams will race in the Twin Cities on Nov. 1, 2025, plus 37 individual qualifiers from across the Northland.

Ryan Denzer-Johnson, who also formerly taught at Northeast Range, was charged with three felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct Monday, Aug. 18, 2025.

The region will be well represented in the Class A meet, with 69 entries; Northern Minnesota has five entries in the 2A meet.

The state boys Swim and Dive meet will have 50 Northland entries made up of 51 student-athletes from eight area schools.
