The Talley Gallery at Bemidji State University welcomes artist Nikki Besser’s exhibit “Portrayals in Paper.” She joined “Area Voices” before the closing reception and artist talk on Feb. 20, 2025.

BSU began specifically training teachers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics in 2021, and the grant funds financial and peer support through graduation and beyond.

For over 40 years, JazzFest has been a staple of the music department at Bemidji State University. This year JazzFest will feature guest soloist Ben Patterson.

Other Northern Minnesota events include author talks in Brainerd and Bemidji, a freshwater jellyfish webinar, BSU jazz fest, "Misery" in Bemidji and First Friday Artwalk in Grand Rapids.

BSU announced the program would end last fall, but it returns for Fall 2025 semester under BSU's School of Technology, Art and Design.

Painter Carrie Katzenmeyer’s exhibit “Giiwe” is featured at the Talley Gallery at Bemidji State University through Oct. 24, 2024. She joins “Area Voices” to share how she hopes her art bridges connections.

Bemidji State University Opera Theater Director Cory Renbarger joined Area Voices to discuss why the opera was selected for performance and how students are preparing.

Ulmer began as the head coach of the BSU volleyball program in 2016. He was previously the head coach at Bethel College in Indiana.

Irish pianist and teacher John O’Conor will perform solo and then as a duo at Bemidji State on Sept. 13 and 14. O’Conor and violinist Eric Olson join “Area Voices” to discuss their music and how their friendship began.

Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College President John Hoffman discussed strategies to pull the regional campuses out of the red and increase enrollment.
