Cherilyn Spears, Henry Donnell, and Kade Ferris are working together on a project that will reintroduce bison (or mashkode bizhiki in Ojibwemowin) to the Red Lake Nation in northern Minnesota. Cherilyn is Project Coordinator for Red Lake Nation Economic Development and Planning, Kade is Red Lake Tribal Archaeologist, and Henry will be the farm manager. The project is based on a survey of the people of Red Lake and will carry out their wishes for better sources of wholesome, pre-colonization food.
