The 5th Annual Bioenergy Day will be held on Wednesday October 18 starting at 9am. The day will include tours of area organizations that using bioenergy including:
- Lonza - Learn about using wood fires as a fuel through an air aspiration fuel recovery system that uses wood biomass boiler.
- Minnesota Power's Rapids Energy Center - See how local wood biomass is turned into clean renewable energy. Rapids Energy Center is a cogeneration facility that provides the Blandin Paper Mill with all its steam requirements.
- Itasca Woody Biomass Project - Hear how biomass plays an important role in forest management, local jobs and community stability.
