Recently, I attended AmericanaFest in Nashville, a gathering for all in the music industry — musicians, record labels, radio stations, festivals, agents and more — to help keep the Americana genre alive and thriving.

During that week, I was able to sit down with several musicians at a studio for conversations along with intimate and stripped-down performances you'll be hearing on KAXE.
Oliver Wood
Known for his work in The Wood Brothers, Oliver has his second (solo) album out now, Fat Cat Silhouette. (Solo) is in parentheses after this conversation because as Oliver said, “I always put solo in parentheses because it's really just a new collaboration.”
He views his solo endeavors as an opportunity to explore new collaborations and experiment outside the structure of The Wood Brothers. His latest project allowed him to work with longtime friend Ted Pecchio and fellow Wood Brother bandmate, Jano Rix who also produced the record. Both were also in on the conversation.
The trio firmly express their continued love for the creative process and the “magic” of music, noting that the excitement and spontaneity of collaboration are what keep their music fresh and meaningful.
Take a listen to the conversation above.
