New Orleans singer Britti (Brittany Guerin) takes advantage of chance encounter with her debut Hello, I'm Britti.
The album is produced by Dan Auerbach and also released on his record label, Easy Eye Sound. The two met after The Black Keys member saw a video online of Guerin singing one of his songs.
Listening to Britti's vocals throughout the album it is clear what caught Auerbach's ear. Her voice is relaxed and effortless, giving the songs an unhurried and dreamlike feeling.
Britti's lyrics tell her personal story with a focus on the hard work and persistence that got her to this point.
The band on Hello, I'm Britti includes Nick Movshon (Amy Winehouse, Sharon Jones) and Jay Bellerose (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Erik Koskinen). Along with other in-demand studio musicians they give the songs a timeless sound inspired by country, soul, and funk.
