On new album Little Songs, Canadian country and western singer Colter Wall transports listeners to the wide open prairie.
While previous releases hinted at his love for classic country, Little Songs is an ode to artists like Hank Williams, Marty Robbins and Merle Haggard from start to finish.
Along with the honky-tonks, yodels and waltzes, there are also honest depictions of loneliness and depression.
The vibe of the album is summed up on the title track, where Wall sings, "You might not see a soul for days, on them high and lonesome plains, you got to fill the big empty, with little songs."
