Rhino Shrine is a Minneapolis band releasing a new EP in January 2024.

"Seeing Everything" is out Friday, Jan. 12, 2024.

MINNEAPOLIS — Rhino Shrine showcases jangly guitars and catchy hooks across the five songs on their new EP Seeing Everything.

Based in Minneapolis, Rhino Shrine is lead vocalist Gavin Jarl, Bud Hjelmber on lead guitar, Adam Trelstad on keys and trumpet, Ben Ranney on bass, and Sam Foster on drums.

The EP was a collaborative effort, band members said in a recent Centerstage Minnesota interview. Inspired by an early idea from Jarl, each member would bring his part to the group, where they would put it all together.

Taking their name from an ornamental fireplace they thought would make a good shrine (the “rhino” part was randomly chosen), the band is clearly having fun and not taking themselves too seriously.

Drummer Sam Foster even joked he missed the previous drummer who he replaced.

“We have a campaign going on called #BringBackMartin,” he said.

The band will celebrate the EP’s release Friday, Jan. 12, at Current Resident in Minneapolis.
