Doyle Turner, one half of The International Treasures, performing live at KBXE in Bemidji.

"It just felt like meeting a member of the family," said Turner on Centerstage Minnesota, "and he is, he's my musical soul brother."

The two musicians, Hajnasiewicz from Minneapolis and Turner from Bemidji, met in a songwriting group and soon realized they worked well together.

They are releasing their debut album, as The International Treasures, with an album release show this Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Parkway Theater in Minneapolis.

Turner previewed three songs from the album during the Centerstage appearance. "Gimme Some Me," "Wild," and "Love Is a Lemon."

You can hear the complete interview, including all three performances, information on the album release and an additional show in Nov. in Fosston, and more above.

Centerstage Minnesota, Fridays at 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. on KAXE/KBXE, is made possible by the citizens of Minnesota through the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

Malachy started his radio career at a college radio station, where he played weird music in the middle of the night to possibly no one. On a good night maybe his parents were listening. Nonetheless, he was hooked on public radio and is still doing it today. He joined Northern Community Radio in 2022, where he gets to share his passion for local music as Producer of Centerstage Minnesota, an all Minnesota music show airing Fridays at 2pm.
