GRAND RAPIDS — The Mighty Trains Band is a new group from the Brainerd lakes area, with a classic heartland rock sound.

Three members of the band stopped by the KAXE studios for an interview and performance of three stripped-down songs. With Greg Selisker on guitar and vocals, Marcus Aulie on keys and backing vocals, and Kevin Larson on bass, the trio started with the unreleased “Gone too Far.”
Next, they played an even newer song called “When There Was You,” which Selisker wrote in the last few months.
“It’s about missing your loved one and wanting her back,” said the lead singer.
For a closer, they ended the session with “The Plan,” the lead single from their Larrys Garage EP.
