GRAND RAPIDS — Minnesota musician Sarah Morris recently came through our area to play a couple of shows and stopped by the KAXE studio.

Morris recently released a new album, Here's to You, with her band Lars Erik-Larson, Andrew Foreman and Thomas Nordland, produced by Dave Mehling. While in the studio, we heard her perform two songs — “(You Are) Champagne on a Wednesday” and “Ruthless.”

“A done song is better than a perfect song because there is no such thing as a perfect song, so I'd rather have a done song,” Morris said during her interview for KAXE’s Centerstage Minnesota.

She also talked about songwriting challenges and why they work, the support within the Minnesota music community and how making music videos is the most expensive fun one can have.

“... It's very easy to frequently have my mind and heart just blown away by the talent that's just around the corner,” she said.
