Events Up North Feb. 16-22: BRRRmidji Days, 'Tin Woodsman of Oz'

Events this week include a pancake fundraiser and curling watch parties in Grand Rapids, "MusiKaravan" in Hibbing, Bemidji Contra Dance and a symphony orchestra concert in Virginia.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

Monday, Feb. 16

  • BRRRmidji Days Family Movie Night - 4 p.m. at the Historic Chief Theater in Bemidji. Watch D2: The Mighty Ducks.

  • Pancake breakfast to support Reif Theater Arts - 9 a.m.-noon at the Grand Rapids VFW
  • Ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate the new Louis and Mary Lou Marchand Library & Archives - 10 a.m.-noon at Beltrami County Historical Society in Bemidji
  • BRRRmidji Days The Bash Fishing Derby & Raffle - 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the south end of Lake Bemidji
  • Bemidji Contra Dance - 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Lammers Town Hall in Solway. Dance to live music by Tickwood String Dance. No partners or experience needed. All ages welcome.
  • Mesabi Symphony Orchestra presents "Brilliant Artistry" - 7 p.m. at Rock Ridge High School in Virginia
  • Tin Woodsman of Oz - 7 p.m. at Pequot Lakes High School Theater. Presented by Greater Lakes Performing Arts and Pequot Lakes Community Theater. Tickets.
  • Olympics curling watch party - 7 p.m. at the Itasca Curling Association in Grand Rapids
