VIRGINIA — A long-standing organization on the Iron Range has a new name. The Lyric Center for the Arts is now known as Cultures, Humanities and Arts on the Iron Range, or CHAIR.
CHAIR's executive director Paul Gregersen was a recent guest on the KAXE Morning Show, and he told us more about the change.
"We provide a seat for everybody on the Iron Range," Gregersen said.
The group has been a large umbrella for many types of cultural activities, from theater to visual arts to yoga classes. They also are a place for other organizations to meet, sure as Iron Range Pride and Revive Virginia.
Gregersen mentioned that more people are moving to the Iron Range and the population is becoming more diverse. "We need to give them a reason to not just choose Virginia, but to stay here."
