It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota, a performance by the Teddy Bear Band in Bemidji, inclusive theater in Grand Rapids and a unique event in Brainerd.

It's another busy week in Northern Minnesota. Here are some events to check out:

Monday, Sept. 23

  • The Night Before Gettysburg - noon at Brainerd Public Library. Chuck Johnson will portray Abraham Lincoln in the one-man, three-scene play.
  • ConnectEffect - noon at Central Lakes College in Brainerd. ConnectEffect is an "interactive entertainment experience." Registration is encouraged.
  • ConnectEffect - 6 p.m. at Sourcewell in Staples

Tuesday, Sept. 24

  • ConnectEffect - noon at Central Lakes College in Brainerd
  • ConnectEffect - 6 p.m. at Sourcewell in Staples

Wednesday, Sept. 25

Thursday, Sept. 26

  • Energy Transition Community Town Hall - noon at Itasca County Family YMCA and 5:30 p.m. at Deer River High School commons
  • Student artwork from Sanders Art Studios display - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Mount Zion Church in Bemidji
  • Early Childhood Rocks! - 5 p.m. at Bemidji High School commons. The event includes activities and games, and the Teddy Bear Band performs at 6 p.m. Hosted by Bemidji Early Childhood Collaborative, Bi-Cap HeadStart and Bemidji Area Schools ECFE, with support from Bemidji Area Arts Endowment and Headwaters Music & Arts.

Friday, Sept. 27

  • Of Folk and Fancy: A Fable, a play presented by Itasca Life Options - noon at the Wilcox Theater in the Reif Center in Grand Rapids

Saturday, Sept. 28

  • Paws in the Park with Great Tails Animal Rescue - 9 a.m. registration, 10 a.m. walk, just north of Yanmar Arena in Grand Rapids. Come with or without a pet for games, door prizes and more.
  • Fall Harvest Festival - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bagley American Legion Auditorium. Breakfast and lunch served with many local vendors and a "new to you" shop.
  • Community tree planting - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Grand Rapids Sports Complex. Itasca Pride puts on the event in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and features cultural performances and a free meal.
  • Sundown on the Jasper County Jewel production by BOLD-choice Theater - 7 p.m. at the Wilcox Theater at the Reif Center in Grand Rapids. Features an opening performance with Itasca Life Options' play Of Folk and Fancy: A Fable.
