This week, we are asking about your most cringe-worthy hairstyle. From home perms to using too much grease, we want to hear about it!

Here's what we heard

Kari Hedlund, KAXE's Music Director, shared the above photo and said, "Here are my favorite cringe styles from my sisters. (Yes, I’ll throw them under the bus every once in a while.) The up and down bangs on Amy! And Jen’s triangle hair is my fave."

Liz from Tamarack said she had a Dorothy Hamill haircut, but it was permed. "'Nuff said. Best forgotten," she added.

Volunteer Jim Gallagher said, "There was an unfortunate period of time in the mid-60s when hair tonic and oils were popular among some segments of the male population. This was before the summer of love, before Woodstock and before that time when long hair on males became a thing. Couple the commercials for Brill cream ('a little dab will do ya'), Vitalis and others, with the 5th grade school photo day and unsupervised boys, and you get ome really homely school photos of young boys who haven’t quite grown into themselves. Those photos will never see the light of day!"

KAXE's Business Manager Penny Holcomb said, "I got a perm my senior year, right before the senior trip. After a week of heat, sun, sand, river water and camping, I came back and had senior photos the same day. Not. Good."

Morey texted in from Big Sandy: "My grandpa gave me and my brother haircuts during one summer at the lake: Mohawks. This was 1958 and after our summer up north we were allowed to go to the first day of school in the fall with those haircuts — so cool! Then my dad buzzed them off."

Finally, we heard this from listener Brett Short: "My Grampy used to tell me the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut? Two weeks."
