Marshall Helmberger with Border News Roundup

Marshall Helmberger is editor and publisher of the Timberjay newspaper, he joins Heidi Holtan for the Border News Roundup on the Friday Morning Show.

This week they talk about the announcement from Senator Tom Bakk, the independent from Cook, that he will not seek re-election and will retire at the end of the year. Marshall gives a recap on the Tower city councils approval on transferring the assets of the Gunderson Trust to the Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation, and how Tower will profit from this transfer.

TheNorth Country National Scenic Trail is a planned national hiking trail that stretches more than 5,000 miles from Vermont to central North Dakota, with 800 miles of the trail planned for Minnesota. Planners are hoping to wrap up public comment on possible routes between Tower and Ely by the end of March.
