Each Friday morning we hear news from northeastern Minnesota when Marshall Helmberger joins Heidi Holtan for Border News Roundup. This week Marshall talks about the issues being discussed in Cook over the Housing and Redevelopment Authority Executive Director Reed Erickson publicly accusing Cook Mayor Harold Johnston of seeking to block evictions of three residents at the apartments operated by CHRA.

Marshall and Heidi talk about this being a great winter in the North Country for tourism-related businesses. With this winter’s cold temperatures, frequent snow, there has been a surge in outdoor recreation travel dominated by snowmobiler traffic.

Marshall explains what the Tower Gunderson Trust is, along with their plan to shift the trust’s assets for management to the Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation and what it means for the city of Tower
