We look forward to Tuesday because it's the day we set aside to really dig into what is happening climate-wise around the listening area. Our Phenology Talkback segment is the time of the week when we reflect on nature observations made by folks across the region. They email us or leave voicemails on our talkback line (218.999.9876) expressing questions and comments about what they are noticing out in nature. These Phenology reports help us tell the climate story of our region and we just love hearing from and connecting with people about what they are noticing.
This week we heard several reports from students at the Circle of Life Academy in White Earth, MN who shared not only their many observations, but also the Ojibwe words for those observations. We also heard from David Scoggins who vacations in MN, but lives in Maryland. He gave us the report from Maryland as a comparison to weather here. It was wonderful to hear from all of the kids! Keep up the good work!
Are you someone who digs the natural world around you? Send along your observations and questions about what you are seeing outside. We'd love to hear from you. Don't hesitate to email or give us a jingle and leave a message at 218.999.9876. You might also consider joining our KAXE-KBXE Season Watch Page on Facebook to connect with other nature-conscious folks in northern Minnesota!
Phenology Talkbacks are made possible by the members of Northern Community Radio and a grant from the U of MN NE Regional Sustainable Development Partnership.
