15th Annual Mississippi River Festival

The 15th Annual KAXE Mississippi River Festival is set for Friday and Saturday, July 19th & 20th at the KAXE amphitheater in Grand Rapids. This year’s lineup will be a great mix of blues, folk, and rock music. Get tickets online here.

The 4ontheFloor (Friday 8pm) -The 4onthefloor deliver stompin' blues  / Inspired by the gutsy stomp of the Delta Blues and the hoe-downs from America’s past and present  / Priding themselves on their original songs, they also love putting their signature stomp on covers from the likes of Wilco to Tom Jones.

Bad Bad Hats

Bad Bad Hats (Friday 6pm)– Bad, Bad Hats are an indie rock band from Minneapolis /  Conisting of Kerry Alexander, Chris Hoge and Noah Boswell all met while attending Macalester College in Saint Paul.  / Named for a trouble-making character from the Madeline children’s books, Bad Bad Hats is defined by a balance of sweet and sour  /  Their music honors classic pop songwriting, with nods to nineties rock simplicity and pop-punk frivolity.
 

SATURDAY LINEUP

Lindsay Beaver (Saturday 8pm)- Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada /  Possessing an old soul at the young age of 33 /  classically trained vocalist and a jazz-trained drummer with a deep love and knowledge of roots music, from blues to jazz to R&B ballads to raucous rock ‘n’ roll.

Kevin Gordon (Saturday 6pm) – A Louisiana native, now 25-year East Nashville resident / Kevin Gordon is a touring recording artist and songwriter  /  Tilt and Shine is his latest release; it was ranked #2 in Paste's Best Roots and Blues Albums of 2018.

Whitehorse (Saturday 4pm) - Whitehorse is a Canadian folk rock band composed of husband-and-wife duo Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland /  Based in Hamilton, Ontario, Doucet and McClelland were both established singer-songwriters before opting to put their solo careers on hold to work together as Whitehorse.

Kitchi Boogie (Saturday 2pm)– The Kitchi Boogie experience is a range of rock-n-roll sounds. Place the words, blues, funk, country, psychedelic, and jam in front of rock, and you can describe the range of songs. Many fans would say, a 70's-like mixture of sounds, with a modern feel.
