Live music taking place Aug. 7-9, 2026 in Northern Minnesota

KAXE's weekly list of concerts near you features Bugle Boys, Oxbows, Battery Eyes, KARS-4-SKIDS, Underground 'til Sundown, Flintlock, the Anchor Windlass, and Superior Siren.

Another week, another Setlist. Sometimes, writing intros is hard.

Starting things off with the Bugle Boys at Trailside Restaurant & Bar in Bigfork, Friday at 6 p.m. They are a folk-blues duo of Clay Fulton and Nick Novotny, who also play together in Clay Fulton & The Lost Forty, with a washboard and stomping blues sound.

The Oxbows are playing Bemidji Brewing at 6 p.m. Saturday for the brewery's Sunset Sounds music series. They are a bluegrass and folk trio of Eric Carlson, Erika Mork and Dan Schnackenberg.

Also at 6 p.m. Saturday, five bands are playing Klockow Brewing in Grand Rapids. KARS-4-SKIDS, a Cars cover band, plus Battery Eyes, Undergound 'til Sundown, Flintlock and The Anchor Windlass, playing post-hardcore, melodic, and '90s punk.

And on to Sunday, Superior Siren are playing in Virginia at the Mesabi Unitarian Universalist Church at 5 p.m. The Duluth quartet is led by the special voice of songwriter Laura Sellner, playing eerie chamber-folk with cello, violin, bass, drums and guitar. Their sound is equally haunting and warm.
