We have three concerts for you this week on The Setlist, from Superior, Wisconsin, to Bemidji.
Erik Koskinen and Sam Miltich bringing talented guests to the region, and music and community go hand in hand in Bemidji.
Erik Koskinen is playing every Thursday this month at Earth Rider Brewery over in Superior, Wisconsin. Each week he'll be joined by different guests, and this Thursday, it's Martha Scanlon and Jon Neufeld. Scanlon is a folk and Americana artist with a special voice, who recently had a song covered by Robert Plant. Neufeld is a talented instrumentalist and close collaborator with Scanlon, producing her 2022 album Last Stars First Light. Music begins this Thursday at 8 p.m.
It's First Friday once again, and this week Sam and Matthew Miltich will be joined by Nathan Norman and Briand Morrison at their monthly Rapids Brewing Co. jazz gig. Norman is a drummer from the Twin Cites and Morrison is a guitarist from Grand Portage, and son of acclaimed Ojibwe artist George Morrison. Music starts at 6 p.m. in Grand Rapids.
Musicians are coming together for a good cause this Saturday at Brigid's in Bemidji. The Safety and Unity in the Community concert is a fundraiser for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women 218 and will feature five performers beginning at 6 p.m. The lineup includes Red Lake rappers Thomas X and Lil Pat, Leech Lake folk-singer Annie Humphrey, R&B singer KMRE and Argentinian guitarist Mauro Gutierrez.
