On The Setlist this week, two music festivals in Hibbing and Aitkin, a summer concert series in Fosston, First Friday jazz in Grand Rapids and Indigenous hip-hop in Red Lake.
This Thursday, Doyle Turner and Sarah Morris are playing at the Heritage House in Fosston at 7 p.m. Turner is a local country singer-songwriter and one half of the group The International Treasures. Morris is a rootsy and warm singer-songwriter who draws from country, pop and folk. The pair worked together on multiple songs off Turner's latest solo album Paper Maps. The show is part of the Heritage House's Music on the Porch summer concert series.
First Friday Art Walk is here again in Grand Rapids, meaning Sam Miltich & Friends will be at Rapids Brewing at 6 p.m. The hot club and straight ahead jazz combo will be joined by Chris Lomheim this Friday, a piano player and composer from the Twin Cities.

The Rockbee Music Festival returns to Mesaba Co-op Park near Hibbing this Friday and Saturday. With onsite camping available, the Iron Range Original Music Association hosted event is the biggest event of the year in Iron Range music. This year's lineup includes Rich Mattson & The Northstars, Boss Mama & The Jebberhooch, Iron Range Outlaw Brigade, Hobo Revival and more. Music begins at 3 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.
Another festival this weekend is RippleSippi in Aitkin, Friday and Saturday. Local musicians like Aurora Baer, Bruce Archer, Amanda Standalone and more perform Friday at The Locker Room, Beanery Cafe & Roastery and Terrace. Music begins at 6 p.m. On Saturday, 4onthefloor and cover bands Verge and Songs of the South are performing after the Riverboat Days Parade.
The Snotty Noze Rez Kids are an award-winning First Nations hip-hop duo from the Haisla Nation in British Columbia. They recently became the first Indigenous group to win best hip-hop album at the 2025 Juno Awards, Canada's Grammy equivalent, with their album Red Future. They are playing NativeCares in Red Lake this Saturday alongside Minnesota rappers Tall Paul, Baby Shel and Thomas X. The show starts at 4 p.m.
